Bombay Nnakka - Best Indian Restaurant

It took me a while to do this review and I’m not sure why but this restaurant is always fantastic. Bombay Naka is a great addition to this row of off the high street restaurants. The interiors definitely set the mood that you are eating on the streets. Food is always piping hot from the kitchen. The menu is extensive and there’s always something new to try everytime we visit. The service is always great and the head server knows us pretty well by now. Don’t be fooled by the photos as it looks empty but it was the beginning of dinner service when we arrived. They were almost full at least an hour by the time we left. I recommend ordering different dishes if you are in a group and just share the plates! We will keep coming back here!

Absolutely loved the food here! The Kadhai Paneer was full of flavor — perfectly spiced with fresh paneer and veggies. The Garlic Naan was soft, buttery, and packed with garlic goodness. I also tried the Samosa Chaat, which was crispy, tangy, and just the right mix of sweet and spicy. Great service and cozy ambience — definitely coming back soon!

Taste:9.5/10-There isn't a single thing I can point out about the food that is bad.The curry has the perfect amount of juiciness in the chicken,spicy and sauce. Presentation:8.5/10-The chicken and sauce came in a metal bowl and the rice in another separate bowl for you to put what you want and how you want it on your plate.Which looked pretty unique which made me more excited to eat it and the way that sauce was at the top of the bowl just made my mouth water Setting-The place had very cool cultural decoration which gave this really cute and cool vibe.It really showed the authenticity of the restaurant. Service:9.5/19-The workers there were so nice and always seemed ready to help us.To the point that everything I ate was chosen by them and the food came the perfect time you'd expect from a restaurant.

When Shahee Mahal changed owners and became Bombay Nnakka I was nervous as my favourite curry house, and indeed, the oldest one in Staines was changing. But, luckily for the people of Staines, it evolved into one of the best curries for miles. Authentic street food with great flavours. I love it. Been coming to this spot for years and long may it continue!

We recently visited Bombay Nnakka and had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was vibrant and truly authentic. A must-try dish is the Zafran Gosht Biryani – absolutely delicious! We also had the vada pav, which was incredibly flavorful. Special thanks to Ketan, who provided outstanding customer service. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Great service and delicious food. Every dish was packed with flavor, and my Indian colleague even said it’s the closest she’s had to the dishes back home, which really speaks to the authenticity here. Stumbling across this place at lunchtime was such a pleasant surprise. To food is tasty, the portions are generous, and it’s great value for money. Honestly, highly recommended.

We recently visited Mumbai Nnakka, a restaurant inspired by Mumbai-style street food, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience! The menu truly captures the essence of Mumbai’s vibrant flavors with a touch of authenticity and comfort. We tried quite a few items — • Chole Bhature (4/5): Not the Delhi-style version, but still very flavorful with well-balanced spices and soft bhature. • Vada Pav (4/5): Nicely spiced and nostalgic — just the right amount of chutney and crunch. • Aloo Tikki (4.5/5): Could’ve been a bit crisper, but taste-wise, it was excellent and full of flavor. • Chilli Paneer (5/5): Absolutely perfect — fresh, spicy, and full of Mumbai-style zing. • Bombay Sandwich (4/5): Nicely toasted with the authentic Mumbai sandwich masala flavor. • Coffee (5/5): A special mention — it’s that classic “wedding-style” coffee you often get at Indian weddings, rich, frothy, and perfectly sweet. A must-try! The service was quick, the portions were generous, and the overall vibe was casual yet welcoming — just what you’d expect from a place that celebrates Mumbai street food culture. We’ll surely be visiting again to explore their mains and a few other dishes. Mumbai Nnakka is definitely worth a visit if you’re craving authentic Mumbai flavors served with great consistency and care.
